Kaspar Braun - Magical Parade Women's Sneakers
Kaspar Braun (1807–1877) was a German painter, illustrator, wood engraver, and publisher. Born in Aschaffenburg, he initially studied painting at the Munich Academy under the direction of Peter von Cornelius. Braun further honed his engraving skills in Paris with Louis-Henri Brévière and in Munich with Johann Michael Mettenleiter. In 1839, he co-founded a xylographic institute in Munich with Franz Xaver von Dessauer. By 1843, in partnership with Friedrich Schneider, Braun established the publishing house Braun & Schneider, launching the humorous illustrated weekly Fliegende Blätter, which gained widespread popularity. Their collaboration also produced the Münchener Bilderbogen, a series of illustrated broadsheets featuring works by artists like Wilhelm Busch and Franz Graf von Pocci. Braun's contributions significantly influenced German visual arts and satirical publications in the 19th century.
